The gift basket may just be the perfect idea for anyone who isn't sure what to send. They are fast, attractive, and affordable. Not to mention the fact that gift baskets can be ordered for nearly any occasion. There are baskets that say “thank you,” “congratulations,” and even those that are sent in sympathy.
But probably the most popular reason for sending a gift basket is to thank or impress a business associate. These baskets are often a big hit at offices since bosses often share them with the staff. There's just one problem. Almost everyone sends exactly the same thing. This happens because many popular online companies offer special theme baskets that include all of the same items. Probably the most popular one is the wine and cheese basket. This basket is sent from business to business without regard for personal tastes.
In this article we are going to discuss a different kind of gift basket that can be enjoyed by the entire office. We are talking of course about fresh fruit gift baskets. These baskets include popular fruits like oranges, apples and pears. Some of the fancy or gourmet baskets even include fruits like raspberries, pineapples and grapefruits.
Why should you send grapefruit? That is, why should you spend the extra money on a fancy basket? Well, one reason is that these baskets include fruits that you don't encounter every day. But maybe you should.
While apples and oranges are great, a fruit like the grapefruit is actually far better for you. Not only does it include large amounts of Vitamin C and Vitamin A like most citrus fruits, but it also provides a healthy dose of fiber. Fiber is an essential nutrient that most people don't get enough of.
But when you send grapefruit you can rest-assured that the recipient is getting more than enough fiber. The average grapefruit has about twelve grams of fiber, which is more than a third of the recommended daily allowance. Most other fruits don't even come close.
Another great reason to send grapefruit is that it is one of the world's most popular breakfast foods. And there is no more important meal for office workers than a healthy breakfast that includes fresh grapefruit.
But before you send grapefruit there are a few things you should know. While it is undeniably a healthy fruit, there is some evidence that grapefruit and grapefruit juice may have serious, even dangerous interactions with some prescription medications, such as beta blockers. So, before you distribute fresh grapefruit to your staff be sure to inform them of this.
